Bilateral Grants - DGD

The study and training grants of the DGD in Belgium are funded in the context of government-to-government cooperation agreements. This is known as direct bilateral cooperation. They are managed on the ground by the BTC (Belgian Technical Cooperation). Approximately 120 grants are awarded each year. Priority will be given to study or training in one of the areas focused on by Belgian cooperation.

The BTC welcomes students on arrival in Belgium and follows their progress during their stay. However, it does not award grants. There is therefore no point in contacting its personnel until you are sure that you have been awarded a grant.

It is essential that applications are made to the representatives of Belgium in the country of origin of the grant applicant. Standard forms are available from Belgian cooperation attachés in the partner countries. A Cooperation Attaché is present in each Belgian representative office (Belgian Embassy or Consulate) in Belgian governmental cooperation partner countries.

For more details and procedures, please contact the Belgian diplomatic representation in your country or consult the ENABEL-website.
